"STOP the Dolphin Massacre", that's my graduation project for the Public Relation module. I adore the lecturer alot. Mr Sivam reminds me of my grandpa in a lot of way, besides his zoo keeper attire that is so adorable, complete with matching waterbottle. Haha! I'll show you a glimpse of what he's like in lectures. Let's talk about my project. Gee i am really oh-so-excited for this one! I really love the topic. I choose the question of how to create an awareness for a crisis and it is a part of PR, how cool is that? PR is really an easy job but very demanding. PR is all about goodwill and have a good, healthy relation with a person. Believe it or not, there are people out there who consume dolphin meat. Mostly Japanese, since it is a part of their tradition. And some people in the Foroe Islands and Denmark people. But i believe there are more in other parts of the world too. Yes eating dolphin meat is like eating fish, cow, chicken, duck but do you have to kill it in the most brutal way in order to consume it? I believe NO! Take a look at Youtube, just click in "Dolphin tears, massacres and such", you'll get to witness the slaughtering footage. Whale hunters will spread their nets and hit the metal poles in the water to confuse these dolphins and place just outside the killing cove. There, they are made to be 'rested' overnight so that their meat will be tender. In predawn the next day, the slaughtering begins. How do they kill it? Just go spearing the dolphin's neck and leave it bleed to sucumb. Most shake their bodies with blood oozing out. The sea will turn blood red. There's this sight of a dolphin's heart still beating lying on the floor. That kinda make me cry. Why be so brutal to them? Why take their organs out when they are still breathing? Why still slaughter the pregnant dolphins? Why eat the dolphin meat when it contains high in mercury which we all know is bad for health? Why? Why? Yes its Japanese tradition to consume it as it is a part of their culture. I respect that, everyone does. But you dont have to do it in the most brutal way. Every living thing needs to be treated with respect! Cause we have feelings. The Japanese fishermen even hunt more dolphins than what they are suppose to. Why does the Japanese officials let it be? Why doesnt the Japanese government intervene? Why does the police shoo off people who are trying to save the dolphins? It is not that the government isnt doing anything. They know it is bad for health and quoted majority of the Japanese doesnt consume the meat these days but its a tradition from thousands of years ago. So its really hard to warn the people about the harmful effects of it. Mind you, hight mercury levels can cause brain damage and majority of them eating dolphin meat, end up getting one. So my fellow friends, lets get together and STOP THE DOLPHIN MASSACRE! Your voice matters! Ohho, i bet Mr Sivam will be proud of me for sprading this crisis so everyone can help! Hahahaha! "SAVE THE DOLPHINS EVERYONE!!!!!" ___________________________ 500 plus words to go and i am done with this 3000 essay. It seemed hard at first but in truth, i do learn a lot. I wana pet a dolphin someday. And turtles. I love turtles! Hahaha. Anyway, let me share something funny with ya. This korean dude singing Mariah Carey's "Touch my Body" is pretty hilarious! Got me laughing my heads off this week! Here, go tickle your own tummy as well: Actually i wanted to add a poem from XXX but my phone just went dead. Perhaps next time.
